Hi, I'm André Pires

Head of Digital Payments @ Uphold

I'm currently the Head of Digital Payments at Uphold, where I manage engineering teams to offer a unique trading experience and help people and businesses have access to safe, transparent, fair, and affordable financial services.

Previously, I worked at Teya (formerly SaltPay), where we developed fast and secure payment solutions that helped small and medium-sized businesses better manage and grow their operations; and at Switch S.A., where we worked with a micro-services architecture to make online payments easier and better. I was a researcher at INESC TEC and finished my Master's in Informatics and Computing Engineering at FEUP.

My skills are mainly focused on backend development, team management, and digital payments. Outside of work, I enjoy playing the piano, exploring drone photography, and traveling.
